Spelling Bee Final 2016

I’m sure you have all been eagerly awaiting an update from this morning’s Spelling Bee final.

The teams were very evenly matched and the scores were high.

Cleadon Spell Masters and St Bede’s Spelling Wasps were tied for first place and had to take part in the sudden death quick fire spelling round.

Cleadon were victorious and were crowned the winners with St Bede’s South shields a very well deserved runner up.

The final scores were

  • Cleadon Spell Masters 39
  • St Bede’s Spelling Wasps 39
  • Mortimer Spellers 38
  • Marvelous Marsden 35

Well done to all teams for  taking part and making this a fantastic competition.

Thank you all for your efforts.

World Cup Video Conference 2014

Video Conferencing is back with a bam bam!

We recently hosted a World Cup themed video conference quiz with schools in the area.  It was great fun for all who took part.   Rounds included spotting national anthems, code breaking and trivia about the World Cup and Brazil.  All with a background of samba music and dancing!

Congratulations go to Mortimer Primary Year 6 and Miss Ogilvie who gave Whitburn Primary Year 6 a run for their money in Group A.  Stanhope Year 5 were beaten in the closing minutes by Year 6 in Group B who claimed the trophy.
